There is usually a lot of debate on this question in the YouTube comments. It's interesting to see that some of the top athletes breathe on every stroke, while others don't.
I think the answer here is to find a number that you can do consistently. It's also good, IMHO, to be able to breathe consistently on either side.

I have 1 breaths at 50 free at SC, one 10 meters after the turn.
Also 1 breath on LC, but that breath come on 35 meters
